Asset Protection Management System APMS

Transformer Monitoring System (TMS)

Our APMS solution features a state-of-the-art, AMI-based Transformer Monitoring System (TMS) designed for deployment on distribution transformers and PMT’s. The TMS uses KEMA/NTDC certified LT/HT-type CT/PT-operated smart energy meters, equipped with GSM/GPRS communication modules approved by the PTA. These modules include external antennas for enhanced signal coverage. Additionally, smart MCCBs are integrated with the smart meters, while CTs/PTs are connected with appropriate cabling and busbar arrangements, all housed in a rugged metallic enclosure.

The system’s unique node design ensures easy installation and durability under harsh weather conditions. It is fully compliant with DDS-76:2023 standards.

The APMS solution includes a comprehensive software package featuring AMI application software and programming/configuration tools. This flexible software allows users to define and manage TMS operations, including load shedding schedules. Detailed analyses and reports, which are fully user-configurable, provide essential monitoring and decision support, offering a cost-effective alternative to expensive business information systems.

Our solution is designed for seamless integration with third-party systems through APIs, making it adaptable to various deployment scenarios. For this solution, the MDC is fully integrated with the PITC Universal Data Integration Layer (UDIL).

Components:
  • Smart Meter – iMeter
  • GSM/GPRS Modem
  • Smart MCCB
  • Current Transformers (CT’s)
  • Metallic Enclosure

  • identify the source of technical and non-technical losses by comparing time synchronized energy measurements at feeder boundaries to aggregated downstream meter readings
  • help optimize energy delivery across the feeder network for improved load balancing, faster service restoration, and override decisions
  • locate the source of sags, surges, and outages enabling you to take preventative actions to protect equipment and reduce losses
  • reduce outage investigation time by isolating the fault locations within the protection zone; APMS nodes can also verify power restoration
  • Improves decision-making as well as O&M by providing accurate, near real-time distribution transformer voltage, load, and power quality monitoring
  • Leverages Axis’s communications infrastructure and system head-end at minimal incremental cost
  • Measures 240 V distribution transformer secondary values safely and accurately using fully integrated voltage and current sensors using iMeter metering platform
