iMeter GC

Smart CT Operated Meter

iMeter GC smart energy meter is an advanced metering device designed for efficient and precise measurement of electrical energy consumption in high-load environments. Unlike conventional meters, it utilizes current transformers to measure current indirectly, making it ideal for industrial, commercial, and high-demand residential applications. These meters seamlessly integrate with modern energy management systems, offering features such as remote monitoring, real-time data analytics, and compatibility with IoT platforms. With capabilities like energy theft detection, tamper resistance, and compliance with local and international standards, CT-operated smart energy meters are pivotal for enhancing grid reliability, optimizing energy usage, and supporting sustainable energy initiatives.

The iMeter GC smart meters provide best-in-class revenue grade accuracy, typically measured at less than +/- 0.3%. Utilities and their customers can have confidence in the metered value and measured electricity usage as our ISO certified labs ensure that product design and manufacturing processes yield a robust product every time. Our testing procedures go well beyond the industry requirements and include some of the most aggressive internal standards in the marketplace today.

Making your Grid “Smarter”

Smart Meter is a major building block of any smart grid system. The iMeter GC is designed realizing the potential of the smart grid and its advanced capabilities help utilities to make informed energy decisions and offer them greater control to:

  • More efficiently transmit electricity
  • Reduce operations and management costs, and ultimately lower power costs for consumers
  • Reduce peak demand, which will also help lower electricity rates
  • Reduce energy pilferage (theft of electricity)
  • Better integration of customer-owner power generation systems, including renewable energy systems
  • Improve security

The customers of electric utility are the gateway to increased energy efficiency and integrated renewable energy sources. iMeter-GC empowers them to understand and reduce their energy use, control their monthly bills and receive energy alerts by email or text messages.

The iMeter GC has been designed to house two batteries: One internal built-in lithium battery to provide power to Real Time Clock and One replaceable battery (can also be fixed) to power LCD display during power outages. The replaceable battery is independently sealed to ease field replacements without compromising security.

The iMeter-GC smart meters provide best-in-class revenue grade accuracy, typically measured at less than +/- 0.3%. Utilities and their customers can have confidence in the metered value and measured electricity usage as our ISO certified labs ensure that product design and manufacturing processes yield a robust product every time. Our testing procedures go well beyond the industry requirements and include some of the most aggressive internal standards in the marketplace today.

Success of an AMI system would depend on the introduction and deployment of not only the metering infrastructure and communication technologies to capture and monitor power consumption data, but also the integration with existing operational and enterprise systems so that outage, billing, meter management and business functions of an electric utility could make use of large volumes of more descriptive data being captured and processed in 30 minute rather than one month intervals.

The iMeter GC can be integrated with a variety of smart Grid equipment. Our Meter Data Management solution CUBE is a suite of software applications and technology that serves as a robust springboard to optimize utility operational systems outside of traditional billing, such as, coordinated load control, load shedding and load deferral.
