Single Phase Revenue Energy Meter

Spectra is a single-phase electronic meter for revenue metering. With hundreds of thousands installed in the field, Spectra is designed for markets where energy pilferage is high and offer utilities solid- state measurement performance, affordability, high quality, accuracy and reliability. High level of anti-tampering features and its unique sealed-for-life meter case design makes this meter highly theft resistant. This meter is particularly suited for utilities looking for an accurate, stable and reliable cost effective electronic meter, for customers billed on a flat tariff structure.

With its one wire operation and ultrasonically welded non open-able Poly-carbonate housing, Spectra is a tamper resistant and completely maintenance-free meter and is designed for residential single phase applications in countries where utilities follow the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and DIN/BS/EN standards.

This meter is particularly suited for utilities looking for an accurate, stable and reliable cost effective electronic meter, for customers billed on a one tariff structure, with a modular architecture able to accommodate future needs with attachments or internal functional modules. Spectra has been designed for harsh environments (High temperature and high humid areas).

But it does not allow functional upgrades of an installed meter base. Attachments or personality modules must be included during the manufacturing process. Field upgrades are not supported.

Sealed for Life Design

Designed to resist tampering for markets where energy pilferage is high, the complete meter is housed in a transparent Anti-theft box made of high quality Poly- carbonate, which is ultrasonically welded. Once sealed the meter cannot be opened without breaking, giving utilities unparalleled edge to safe guard their revenues.

Designed with a significantly reduced footprint when compared to more traditional metering equipment, Spectra is simple to install and can serve to minimize storage and transportation costs, a factor which is becoming an increasingly important consideration in today’s competitive marketplace.

The following anti-fraud features are available to guard against revenue loss or human tampering:

Multiple utility-controlled password protection
Communications record of events for tracking data or program changes
Phase voltage outage recording for total count and time-date stamp of events
Immunity against external electromagnetic fields

The meter provides additional immunity above the levels specified in IEC 62052-11, particularly against gas lighter, or walkie- talkie and is immune to non-sinusoidal waveforms injected in the metering circuit, or large magnet. For all stimuli, the meter does not stop or show any evidence of effect.
